Maraming salamat sa mga nakasama namin sa #PASovernightstargazingcamp2017
It was truly a magical night to remember.
We had hoped for the sky to be generous, and then it rained with starlight--flooding our eyes with their brilliance. We traced our way through the constellations and told tales of the mythologies behind them. We came to just gaze at stars but were granted the presence of other heavenly bodies--the Moon, satellites, shooting stars, Jupiter, its moons, Saturn, Milky Way, and of course, all of you. You were stellar participants.
For some of us, February was having a cold start, but like penguins we huddled in each other's warm company. Like meerkats, we stood and stared at the magnificence of the night sky. We connected with new people, schoolmates, neighbors, and an aspiring astronaut. Some may have hoped to meet "the one." We came from different walks of life, but we gathered because we were curious to see the same constellations. Intentionally or not, we hope you have formed new constellations among you.
We hope you had a spectacular Saturday night and a stellar Sunday morning. Thank you for choosing to be with Philippine Astronomical Society this weekend. We hope you enjoyed, we hope you have broadened your knowledge of the universe, we hope you've gained a new appreciation of astronomy, and we hope to see you again in our future events. Clear skies!
