A big bang indeed! Attendees were 121 plus two kids and their nanny. Many were lost going to the Planetarium despite the map, so they came late. But all had fun despite the "nosebleeding" but necessary lectures as they say. Winners of the four meteorite raffle prizes were from De La Salle University, two kids from MLQU High School, and one from UP Los Banos Astronomical Society - all donated by Allen Yu. And the highlight was the 45-min planetarium show, courtesy of the National Museum Planetarium.
Thanks much to all those who came, especially from as far as La Union and Los Banos, to attend this PAS Continuing Education Program (Part 2), Level 1.
Our special thanks to National Museum Director Jeremy Barns, Planetarium Curator Bel Pabunan, Lecturers Engr. Camilo Dacanay, Dr. Romar Sese, Erika Valdueza, Emcee Leah Villalon, Allen Yu,and the Planetarium staff.

The Philippine Astronomical Society undertook its annual "AstroPilgrimage" to Baguio on May 25-27 for its PAS Continuing Education Program, out-of-town observation, and social event.
Twenty four members headed by Board Chairman Engr. Camilo Dacanay and President Ian Allas joined the activity. The group left for Baguio at 5 AM on May 25 and went back to Manila on May 27 at 4:40 PM. They stayed at Roxas Hall, Teachers Camp while others had their own private accommodation.
Highlights of the events were the visit to John Nassr's Stardust Observatory, tour of Baguio sites and points of interest (Philippine Military Academy, Mines View Park, etc.), lectures, and stargazing at Teachers Camp site.
An included plan for an overnight camping at Mt. St. Thomas was discontinued due to a rainy condition at Baguio days before and the possible danger of road hazards going up the steep uphill drive to Mt. St. Thomas.
Following are pictures during the out-of-town activity. Please check our Facebook account for more photos or check links below.
The Philippine Astronomical Society's Continuing Education Program (PASCEP) was carried on through another lecture on the Big Bang Theory conducted by Engr. Camilo Dacanay from 3:00 to 5:00 PM last Saturday July 2 at the Manila Observatory Board Room.
In attendance were many new PAS members, teachers, and guests who missed Part 1 of the Big Bang Theory lecture last May 21 and who want to continue the PASCEP through 2012 with a certificate.
