In collaboration with the Physics Society of the Adamson University (PSAU) and its media partner WhenInManila.com for their Society event "Convergence: Meeting the Minds on the Edge of Physics", the Philippine Astronomical Society jointly held the July Monthly Meeting/Lecture and Election for the Board of Directors at Oz Hall, Adamson University last July 30.
PAGASA predicted a rainy weekend, so we were apprehensive that our meeting/lecture at Adamson University may be not well-attended. But we were wrong.
July 30 was sunny, and Oz hall was packed with attendees from all over. Some came as far as Batangas, Cavite, Malabon. Here is the partial List of Attendees: Immaculate Conception Parochial School, Malabon; Philippine Normal University; Rajah Soliman? Science Tech High School; Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School; Claro M. Recto High School; Ramon Magsaysay HS; Antonio Luna Elementary School; Polytechinic University of the Philippines, Sta Mesa; FG Calderon Elementary School; Manila Science High School; Andres Bonifacio Elementary School; Centro Escolar University; Araullo HS; UP Collge of Medicine; La Salle Collge of Law; Gracino Lopez Jaena ES, and students from the different Engineering departments of Adamson University.
A lecture on Medical Physics was held in the morning by Ms. Agnette Peralta, followed by two lectures in the afternoon from John Lequiron and Engr. Camilo Dacanay.
Wow! The Physics Society of Adamson University left no stones unturned as others say. Impressive excellent hosting as that of our meetings' other university hosts. But Adamson came with a novel addition of singing and dancing presentations.
We also had the PAS BOD election yesterday. Eleven new Board of Driectors were elected and reelected; they are Engr. Camilo Dacanay, Hernan Dizon, Leah Villalon, Ronald Tanco, Bruno Exiomo, Thel Gavino, Noel Cantero, Leo Manosca, Kashogi Astapan, jeffre Blanco, and Victoria Evarretta.
After the meeting ended with the Butterfly Dance and group's souvenir photo, the remaining BOD and PAS members took off to Leah's birthday party at Pasig where food, drinks, karaoke songs overflowed.
Swell July 30 day and night!
